Ashdown Technology
Ashdown has a rich and long heritage with building innovative technology solutions.
We were one of the first newspaper publishers to successfully link personal computers to dedicated typesetting and page layout systems as well as developing a sophisticated RDBS for classified advertising.
In the early years of the Internet, Ashdown developed its very own Content Management System called Gutenberg, linking MS.SQL, ASP and HTML to drive dynamic web pages. The core engine of this application is still in use today as part of the Genesis page planning software, allowing editors, designers and production to produce magazines via the Internet in real time.
The Genesis suite of programs is complemented by a robust, web based Advertising Planning module allowing sales staff and production departments to integrate from anywhere in the world via a browser.
We have also built and implemented many web systems from CMS software for the motor industry to online booking solutions for executive airlines.
With the birth of IPTV Ashdown has developed its own Streaming Player called Silvercast.
This is a turn key solution for anyone wishing to stream IPTV over the web. Our algorithms have been crafted over the years to provide the very best viewing experience from low end bandwidth to high definition. In fact our "future proof" approach and HD streams are just one of the many reasons why Silvercast is one, if not the best, streaming platforms around.
In addition, the Silvercast management system makes it easy for editors, cameramen, production staff and presenters to plan, monitor and manage the entire process of creating TV footage.
Preroll advertising, web links and classified adverts are all managed from within the system as well as Freeview or PayView options.
Streaming video is handled by our own dedicated FMS server farm which is housed at The Bunker, an ultra-secure super fast facility near London, England. Fall over and back up servers are programmed to handle any interruption to service.
Our investment, dedication and motivation in the field of broadcasting places Ashdown, quite simply, in a league of its own.
