Dollhouse
Miniatures has a new and exciting home. The publication, which
has been at the forefront of the miniatures hobby for numerous
years, has been acquired by Ashdown Inc., publishers of American
Miniaturist.
The company, based in Kasson, MN, has many years' experience
in producing high-quality specialist titles.
Kelly
Rud, director of Ashdown Inc., said: "I’m
delighted with this new venture. We intend to bring the
readers of DHM a completely separate publication than
AM readers. My team is very excited to be bringing this
magazine into our family of publications. As you know,
the title has a strong following and a historic reputation
in the hobby. We will strive to make the title all that
it can be. Quite honestly, my team and I feel very much
as if we are bringing DHM home."
Exciting
changes are ahead for DHM. Starting with the first collectors'
issue, the publication will be even more glossy with
an increase of pagination to showcase all the terrific
artisan features and how to projects. But these great changes
aren’t limited to just the publication. Ashdown will
be refreshing the website and rolling out a fantastic digital
version of the magazine through its iMag technology. And that’s
just the start. With Ashdown’s pioneering media tools,
the company will also make its IPTV, internet-based miniatures
television, available to the DHM subscribers and advertisers.
However, with all these changes, the foundation stays the
same. After all, DHM is all about bringing to its readers the
world of miniatures in a nutshell.
